15 Super Easy Ways to Describe Your Business

15 super easy ways to describe your business

As a digital marketing consultant I take the time, every week, to browse through the "About Us" page of websites from all over the world.

Too many people do not seem to be able to properly describe themselves, their business and why a potential customer should buy from them.

There is no magic formula in describing yourself and your business, however there are best practices.

Answering these questions will help you develop a great description for yourself and your business. Here are 15 super easy ways to describe you business.

  1. What is the name of the business?

  2. Why was it chosen?

  3. How many years has the business been active?

  4. What is the primary goal of the business?

  5. What services or products does the business provide?

  6. What benefits does the business offer its customers?

  7. Why was the business founded? What goals does it want to achieve?

  8. Who founded/owns/manages the business?

  9. What is the owner/founder/managers’ background?

  10. How many years of experience do they have?

  11. What education, training or accreditation do they have?

  12. What special traits or talents set them apart?

  13. What do they love about the business?

  14. Is it a family business?

  15. How many employees does the business have?

Do not make the mistake of writing for yourself. Write for your audience. Always think about what would be interesting to them and what they want to hear. Leave out the fluff. People are busy, they don't have time to read 3 paragraphs about why you love your cat.

Write information that will help your audience understand what your business is all about, why your business is unique and why they should buy from you.

Don't forget to include a picture of yourself, your manager, your staff, or the company's office. Make sure that the pictures you choose inspire trust in your potential clients.

Check out my "About Me" page to get an example of these best practices put in action.
