Know Your Strengths and How to Use Them

I have met far too many people in my life that have massive amounts of talent, skills and strengths yet they are utter failures.
I am a great admirer of Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has inspired me on a life long journey to get in physical shape, and also to keep being better than my previous self.
Schwarzenegger is a 7 time Mr. Olympia; the most prestigious bodybuilding pinnacle you can possible reach. However, back then bodybuilding was only popularly known to a very niche demographic. He had ambition, he knew that he had reached as far as he could reach in the bodybuilding world and what it could do for his ambitions of becoming world famous and influential.
In the 80's, action movies were massively popular. He realized that this was his transcendence from bodybuilding fame, which only garnered him fame within a very tight niche, to world wide fame and influence.
He did not know much about acting, however, he knew his strengths which would help him on his journey to becoming a world wide mega action star.
He had years of experience in entertaining people in the bodybuilding world.
He had the action star body and looks.
He had the ambition.
He knew how to put his strengths together, like a cog in a machine, to get the best out of them.
He broke into the movie business with the smash hit movie Conan the Barbarian. This movie rocket propelled him through the 80s, 90s as one of the most formidable action star Hollywood has every seen.
His ambitions did not end with acting. He realized that the movie business has garnered him significant inherent power, and he decided, once again, that he would transcend from acting into politics. He became the Governor of California in 2003, and was re-elected for a second term in 2006.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is the quintessential result of when someone has ambition, clear goals and focusing on their strengths, and most importantly, how to combine those strengths, like a cog in a machine, to get the best possible results.
My advice:
Identify your strengths. We all have talents, skills and strengths we ignore, because we are too infatuated with those of other people.
Once you identify your talents, skills and strengths, focus on building them.
Make sure to create short, medium and long term goals. Without goals, you will lose track of your purpose and you will revert back to your comfort zone.
Break down all goals into smaller, doable goals. You will understand the purpose of this when you start completing those small goals one at a time; it will give you a strong sense of accomplishment and it will keep you motivated.
You may ask - but what does this have to do with my business, and marketing my business. My answer - it has everything to do with it. Your business is an extension of yourself, it is a representation of your talents, skills and strengths. If your business is failing, it is because you are not focusing on identifying your talents, skills and strengths, thus making it impossible for you to build them, and most of all, putting them together the right way to get the best possible results.
