How To Sweet Up Facebook Algorithm For Organic Reach

We have been managing the Belize Green Clean social media Facebook business page for over a year now.

We have followed the industry rules of thumb when it comes to content created and posted:

  • Focusing on Content type such as: pictures, videos, custom-graphics, text, share links.

What we have found is that Facebook's algorithm seems to prefer posts that tell stories, accompanied with a picture or video.

After studying what was working best for businesses in similar and different niche, using social media marketing analytic tools, we decided to create this post on April 29th, 2019 which had a reach of 1,498 and an engagement of 74...

...all in a span of 21 hours!

Let's put this into context.

Since we have been managing this company's Facebook business page, we have never seen such reach and engagement in such a short time frame.

Facebook has always been reluctant to push organic reach, because they want you to spend money on ads.

It is important to understand that this was organic, the post was not boosted, the page is not being promoted via any Facebook ads.

Take Away

  • Use stories, along with a pictures or videos in your social media posts.

  • Monitor closely what is working and what isn't working. What works for one company will not necessarily work for yours.

  • Be authentic.

  • Sell your company's "why"

For your reference, here is the exact content that we created for the post.

In this post, we wanted to connect people to the global awareness movement of pollution.

We want people to understand that changes in the types of products we use, gives us individual power, to collectively, and positively effect change.

We then tied in the company's "why": why they created their products.

We then finished off the post with 4 short Value Propositions and a Call To Action.

The custom-designed graphic is used to showcase each product, and also make it easy for people to remember how to find out more about the company and its products by visiting their website.

One of the greatest mistakes we, as a species, have made over the past few decades, was our failure to realize that our individual actions would collectively affect planet earth.

It is this principle that pushed us to create our bio-friendly Green Care Products.

Whether we like it or not we have to clean: our homes, our business space, or boats, cars...everything.

Most cleaning products are extremely toxic to humans and the environment.

Our cleaning products are:

  • intentionally environmentally-friendly and safe for your family.

  • natural and strong enough for commercial use, yet gentle enough for your home.

Our products #work. They are #natural. They are #affordable. They are 100% #Belizean.
